  • Positivity Group

    Published 29/03/23

Caroline from PIE (Pursuing Individual Excellence) was back with our Positivity group. The group was out and about spreading their positivity around their local community. The girls wanted to do their mini social action project in the community and chose several places to share their random acts of kindness with. They had bunches of daffodils and Easter Eggs and visited their two local shops which are always inundated with students! They also chose the primary school many of them went to where they left daffodils for some staff and buckets of Easter goodies they had decorated for the most deserving students. They then also visited the Bridge centre which is a local community organisation which carries out amazing work. They gave daffodils and Easter Eggs to the many volunteers who help to keep the place going. Despite the rain and cold, we all felt great at the end of the session with lots of positive vibes all round!

  • Year 7 Oral Health Workshop

    Published 20/03/23

Yorkshire Partnership with Leeds University delivered 3 workshops to all the year 7 students on Oral Health.

Professor Sue Pavitt  (Leeds University) had the following feedback regarding the event:

“The Sixth Students had a great experience and really enjoyed meeting the Year 7s. I must say of the classrooms I visited I was very impressed (and pleased) by the engagement and interest from your Year 7s. We were so impressed by what you are achieving and your passion for making a difference to these young people’s lives and creating opportunities. My team also very much enjoyed it and really appreciated some of the oral health challenges your students are experiencing and we hope this will be the start of a long collaboration that will impact on the oral health inequalities to make a difference of your students alongside providing invaluable exposure to our students and staff“.
